The dinner at Ampelon gardens on Saturday 4th November at 7pm is open for anyone in the Mildura community to attend. Tickets are $160 per person for a 3 course sit down meal with music by Sydney singer Nicky Crayson and her group.
Nicky Crayson began her professional career at 14, singing in clubs and venues around Sydney. In 1983 she became the lead singer with Galapagos Duck, performing weekly at the legendary jazz venue The Basement, also recording the ‘Endangered Species’ album and touring extensively throughout Australia. Crayson also appeared in the film, Rebel (1985), in a supporting actor role and featured as solo vocalist on the soundtrack. Nicky has performed with an extensive range of Australian musicians and supported significant international acts including Tony Bennett and Mark Murphy. She has performed at all the major Australian festivals and in notable venues throughout the country including the Sydney Opera House, the Olympic Stadium, the Sydney Domain ‘Jazz in the Park’ and Australia Day Concerts and Adelaide’s Festival Theatre. Crayson has toured internationally representing Australia in the Bicentennial Australian Jazz Orchestra touring the USA in 1988 and most recently in Japan during 2014. She was a regular on variety television shows including: The Mike Walsh Show; The Ray Martin Show; Hey, Hey It’s Saturday; Good Morning Australia and Channel Nine’s Sunday program. In 2000, Crayson recorded the Sydney Olympic Theme for the Australian Olympic Games coverage. Crayson has recorded the albums/CDs: Endangered Species; To The River Again; The Wedding Album; A Café in Venice; Daydream and most recently, The Paul McNamara Trio.
